Situated in Callaway County, Kingdom City is a Missouri community with a population of about 120 people. Kingdom City was formed when the construction of US Route 40 began. The construction of the highway brought many workers to the area. Eventually, a gas station and hotel were built in the area which is now known as Kingdom City. Throughout the early parts of the 20th century, many businesses opened in Kingdom City but eventually closed down. In 1970, the post office in nearby McCredie was relocated to Kingdom City and the community was incorporated as a village that same year.
Although Kingdom City is not a large community, there are many things to see and do around the area in which it is located. The village is home to several restaurants including Denny’s, Arby’s, and the Iron Skillet. Individuals passing through Kingdom City will have several hotels and motels to choose from including America’s Best Value Inn, Super 8 Motel, and Days Inn. Kingdom City is also home to various attractions and events such as the Boster Castle and the Fire Fighters Memorial of Missouri.
Kingdom City is located in a climate that experiences four distinct seasons. Summers in the city are warm and humid and winters are cold and wet. The summer months experience daytime temperature highs that range from the mid to upper-80s on average. In addition to warm temperatures, summer receives the most rainfall of any season in Kingdom City.
