The Details

The air handler is the indoor component of a heat pump system, housing the fan and the heating and cooling coil. It is designed for a particular refrigerant, so it must be matched with the heat pump or air conditioner it serves. The Carrier line runs from the Comfort Fan Coil (FJ5, multi 5-speed ECM blower) and Comfort Crossover (45MUAA, variable-speed technology) through the Performance Fan Coil with InteliSense (FT5) to the Infinity Variable-Speed Fan Coil (FE5B).

Variable and multi-speed air handlers ramp up slowly to your thermostat setting rather than turning on at full speed. That alleviates the cold air blow of single speed units and dramatically reduces system noise. Most models carry a 10-year parts limited warranty upon timely registration; the Comfort Crossover offers a 5-year parts plus 3-year labor option. We handle the refrigerant match as part of every quote.

We called Central Heating & Cooling, Montgomery City MO, and they answered, took our name & said they would get to us as soon as they could.  That was at 10am on a Sunday morning. At 3:00pm that day Ben B showed up and within 45 minutes we had cool air again!  He was FANTASTIC!!  He knew what he was doing, did it efficiently and was also very nice and friendly. He even went into the crawl space under the house to make sure no mice had chewed through the wiring.  He was very methodical in his approach in diagnosing our problem. The Central repairman came very quickly and replaced the tubing. Then I remembered the worn out flapper in the toilet tank and he replaced that as well. Very professional and pleasant to work with.
